This site is dedicated to the memory of Jean Turnbull.

Ray and daughters, Julia and Alison have set up this Snowdrop Memorial Fund in Jean's memory. Ray has kindly donated £200 towards a Snowdrop Memorial Garden in the Washington area.

Jean sadly died on the 22 October 2009 age 62years, after a two year fight against mesothelioma. A disease that has now claimed the lives of both Ray’s wife and his mother.

Jean grew up near the notorious Turner and Newell chemical works in Washington. She could remember the “white heaps” at the chemical works. Tragically Ray’s mother had worked at the same plant and died of the disease in 1979.

At the time those working at the site and living near by had no idea about the lethal asbestos fibres they were coming in to contact with.

Donations made through the Jean Turnbull Snowdrop Fund will benefit the work of the Mick Knighton Mesothelioma Research Fund (MKMRF).
